And Now a Word from Our Sponsor

This is my first in what will just be my thoughts and happenings in my day to day life. But first some background....

I'm a simple, quiet person that prefers the company of close friends. I graduated college with a Master's degree in Computer Science and a minor in Applied Mathematics. I work in a major Ivy League university as an application delivery manager. I work in many different areas of technical support including project management, application design, and technical support management. In my off-time I have several hobbies including computers and Warhammer 40K. Jack Daniels is my drink of choice.

Along with my friends, I have an army in the Warhammer 40K universe and game. I originally started a Chaos Space Marines army. I cut my teeth in the game and quickly learned that it was much more than just a game. As I looked through the universe, I moved on to an Imperial Guard army. Not wanting to just make an army to play, I decided to do a highly background story and force organizational army of the finest caliber; a leading highly decorated and celebrated regiment hosted on the planet of Cadia. You can follow my progress here in the Imperial Cadian Gatekeepers section and also on Warseer in the Cadian 1st "Gatekeepers" thread.

I'm also a computer hobbyist. I have several high-powered workstations and a few laptops as well. You won't find a Linux, Apple, or Windows evangelist here. I try to keep an open mind on the subject. I've tried several Linux OS's but haven't locked down my favorite distribution. Currently I'm a Gentoo kick because of its ease of customization, software installation and maintenance.

Unfortunately I'm still stuck living with my parents. New Jersey is not the cheapest state to live in. I also must admit that I'm specific with my choice of purchases. I don't want an apartment or condo but rather a real house with a yard and everything. Currently I'm still looking in South Jersey which is increasingly becoming very crowded. Hopefully I'll find something soon.

This web site is my pet project. I maintain it not only for myself but also to support my friends for communication, discussion and our various common pursuits. I must admit though that I'm not much of a graphic artist but I can do some basic editing, splicing and transformations.

There will be more to come in the future so stay tuned! Same bat time, same bat channel.
